This Privacy Policy explains how Pickem Guru LLC ("pickem.guru", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites and the pick'em game at pickem.guru and its subdomains (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account (via email/password or Google Sign-In) we collect your name, email address, and the public nickname you choose.
- Gameplay data. Your weekly picks, tiebreaker predictions, scores, standings, and pick history.
- Referral data. Your referral code and, if you joined via a referral, the code that referred you.
- Technical data. Standard log and device information (IP address, browser type, timestamps) and locally stored session data used to keep you signed in.
2. How we use information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To run the contest: record picks, compute scores, and publish leaderboards (your nickname and results are visible to other players).
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service and to communicate with you about it.
3. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers who power the Service, including Google Firebase (authentication and database hosting) and our hosting/CDN providers.
- Other players, who can see your public nickname and contest results on leaderboards.
- Legal authorities, where required by law or to protect our rights and users.
Sports schedule and score data is obtained from third-party providers; we do not share your personal information with them.
4. Data retention
We retain your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time (see Contact).
5. Your choices and rights
- You can access and update your profile within the Service.
- You can request a copy or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and managed authentication, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for, individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
8. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date above.
